Alone, and scared

Maria knew she wasn't convinced, but it was true. Sort of.

Phin was just a sceptic. She didnlt believe anything unless it was proved.

Maria sighed. The talk of food was making her ungry, but she was used to it by now.

"You ought to go eat."

Maria looked surprised, but just shook her head. "I can't"

"Why not?"

"I..I just can't"

Seraphina pulled a couple of cereal bars out from her pokct and threw her one.

"In case you get hungry later."

Maria looked at it, and her stomach clenched. She put it in her pocket. "Thanks" She muttred.

She shrugged, breaking open the wrapped of her own with ehr teeth.

Maria wanted to eat, but couldn't. She just couldn't stand the thought of eating, exspecially at the moment.

Phin wolfed down her bar, screwing up the wrapper and poicketing it.

Maria fingered the bar in her pocket. She could eat it quickly, and not think about it. Sighing she slowly opened it with one hand, still in her pocket.

Phin was still reading.

Maria stopped as her stomach clnched again. Her hand fell out her pocket. Shedidn't feel like it.
