Outside at night

Vally was outside. She had dropped her lighter, and she needed to find it.

Kenneth was outside. He was leaning against a tree, flicking his own lighter on and off, on and off.

Vally flicked on a low-beam torch, scanning the area.

Kenneth winced. "F*ck! Turn that off!"

She did so, scanning the ground with her eyes.

"I lost something."

Kenneth winced. Ow...bright light. "What did you lose?"

"A lighter."

"Do you want to use mine?" Kenneth asked blankly.

"No."

"No problem."

She found the lighter and flicked it on.

Kenneth sighed softly, twitching his nose.

Vally lit another roll-up.

Kenneth closed his eyes. He was gorgeous...if you didn't mind guys with piercings, girly eyebrows and long hair.

Vally wouldn't have noticed if he was.
